Okay, vacation fail #17098. Have not taken the time to update this thing throughout all of August.
Too much has happened for me to keep up with. Rather than try a legitimate recount of our Boricua happenings, I'll just overload the page with a bunch of pictures and vague captions.

At some point, Avanti's friends Melucifer and Tedmund came to visit, during which time we travelled to Fajardo on the other side of the island to stay in El Conquistador Resort, experience the bioluminescent bays, and take the hot-and-long ferry boat to Culebra Island's famous Flamenco Beach. The beach is named the second most beautiful in the world and was nearly worth the epic trek it took to get there and back. We could have used an umbrella and some SPF 500, but it was still fun.
The bioluminescent bays included a kayak tour through the mangroves to get to the water that lights up. The adventure was unbelievable. All the photos were taken on an old-school water proof disposable camera, so you'll have to delay the gratification of seeing our beautiful sweaty selves schlepping through the mangroves in our kayaks. I might add that we were quite talented kayakers. I didn't scream once, other than the time I thought there was a pirana attacking me but it was just a leaf.
Our trip to San Juan also included a night out salsa dancing, and some other adventures at the kiosks in Luquillo which I don't care to ever think about again. We can rest assured, however, that my phone has a freakishly bright flashlight that comes in handy during times of unplanned, post-twilight tightrope bridge hopping and incognito escape necessities.
Lastly, although not part of our traveling adventures, Avanti and I spent this past Friday assisting in abcess drainage and ulcer cleaning in the clinic. Highlights included the sounds and smells of scraping rotting, fibrous flesh tissue while one disturbed nurse described the rice and beans that he wishes to cook for us with the ulcer scrapings.
And that's the story, major plot holes included. Home in less than a week!
